about me
Born and raised in northern New Jersey and earned my BFA in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts in 2002. My career began in the fashion industry, where I worked with leading manufacturers in New York City, focusing on apparel and accessory design, textiles, patterns, packaging, and point-of-sale displays. I was deeply involved in the design process, from developing concepts to managing product approvals and working closely with overseas factories to ensure quality and production timelines. I also collaborated with licensing teams, sales teams, buyers, and merchandisers to bring designs to market and ensure they met both creative and commercial goals. My work has been featured in major retail stores, including Target, Claire's, Nordstrom, and Macy’s.
After nearly a decade in fashion, I felt a calling to share my passion for design with the next generation. I returned to school to pursue a Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching at Montclair State University, graduating at the top of my class in 2010 while working full-time as a Creative Director. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of teaching graphic design at one of New Jersey’s top-ranked public high schools. I’ve expanded the design program from a single course to a comprehensive curriculum, offering everything from Honors to AP-level classes. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see my students go on to study design at top universities and launch their careers in the creative industry.
In addition to teaching, I also work as a freelance designer with clients across the country. I specialize in logo design and visual branding, and have worked with companies in industries ranging from fashion and healthcare to entertainment, food & beverage, non-profits, and fitness. Each project offers a chance to tackle new challenges and stay engaged with the latest trends in design, while continuing to bring fresh perspectives and real-world experience to my students.
